Rug themed Clothing

We have recently tumbled upon a beautiful creation of art that incorporates the elegance of Persian rugs with the flashy styles of the 21st century.  This piece of art has been created by Matt Camron, a runway fashion designer.  In one of his most recent shows, Cameron put on display Tabriz-themed outfits, which included floral bracelets, intricate blouse patterns, and vine motifs.  Rug-themed dresses have become a symbol of innovative clothing, yet not without proper cause.  Persian rugs have stunned the art industry for years by providing a durable, yet also functional piece of art.  If you would like to experience our massive collection of oriental rugs, please stop by and visit us at Main Street Oriental Rugs, 8290 Main Street, Ellicott City, MD.

Bidjar rugs

Bidjar rugs embody a rose by having a multi-layered, diamond shaped medallion design that is usually cast with red rust colors and white highlights.  Traditional Bidjar rugs are distinguished by the fact that, after completion of the rug, they are beaten with a hammer-like tool, creating a compressed weave that leads to a thinner, yet more durable rug.  Because of this, Bidjar rugs have been given the nickname “The Iron Rug”.  More modern versions can be found with all-over floral designs that replace the traditional layered medallion, along with a less rigorous pounding process to preserve the softness of the rug.  Due to an embargo on Persian rugs in 2008, these rugs have become increasingly valuable in today's market and are becoming harder and harder to find.  Due to this rarity, Bidjar-design rugs have been made in areas of Pakistan and India, thus preventing the extinction of a very unique design.  If you would like more information on Bidjar Rugs or if you are interested in our store, call us at 410-313-9090, or visit us online at www.msorientalrugs.com.  You can also visit us in-store at 8290 Main Street, Ellicott City, MD 21043.
